Do we have an absolute favourite? For old times sake – because it was just about the first truly great burger ever served in Bucharest – we would have to pick the original Hilton burger at the Café Athénée, even if, at 72 lei, it is a touch on the pricey side. When it comes to best value, the classic burger at Burger Peter (just 24 lei) is hard to beat, not least as the fries are as good as the burger (not always the case, even at the specialist burger bars). We are also rather fond of the hangover burger at Modelier, not least as we live just around the corner and regularly spend our hungover Sunday afternoons at the place.
